RFID RC522 Module — 13.56MHz NFC/RFID Reader/Writer for Arduino
The MFRC522 is the standard RFID reader/writer IC used in access control, contactless payment, and inventory systems. This breakout module brings its SPI interface to a 0.1"-pitch header compatible with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and virtually every other development board. Includes one Mifare 1K RFID card and one key fob, both pre-programmed with blank user memory.
The RC522 reads and writes Mifare Classic, Mifare Ultralight, NTAG203, and most ISO 14443A cards at 13.56MHz — the same frequency as building access cards, transit passes, and NFC-enabled smartphones. Excellent starting hardware for RFID cloning research, access control prototyping, and learning about contactless protocols.
