The humble glass funnel is indispensable for transferring liquids without spilling, filtering through paper, and introducing solids into narrow-necked vessels without loss.

Short-stem funnels sit more stably in flasks and cylinders than long-stem versions, and the 60° cone angle is the standard for folded filter paper. Borosilicate 3.3 is chemically inert to all common acids, bases, and solvents — unlike plastic funnels which swell in acetone or crack in DCM.
