EMF Detector — Electromagnetic Field Meter & Gauss Meter
Electric and magnetic fields are everywhere around you — power lines, appliances, motors, transformers, the Earth itself. This meter makes them quantifiable.
The EMF detector measures both AC electric field strength (in V/m) and AC/DC magnetic field strength (in µT or mG) across the ELF (extremely low frequency) range relevant to power infrastructure. Use it to map the fields around household wiring, motors, transformers, and electronic devices — or to demonstrate the inverse-square law of field falloff, the shielding properties of different materials, or the field geometry around a solenoid.
What you can measure:
- Magnetic field around household wiring, appliances, and power lines
- Field falloff with distance (verify the inverse-square law)
- Shielding effectiveness of steel, aluminium, mu-metal
- Earth's background magnetic field (~50 µT at mid-latitudes)
- Field distribution around solenoids and permanent magnets
